Imported from Germany, Saphiro is a 1999 cremello Lusitano stallion, measuring 16 HH. He has been inspected and approved to be included in the Portuguese Studbook. Saphiro is the 2002 National Champion Portuguese Jr Stallion and winner of the Best Movement Medal, awarded by Arsenio Cordeiro. Saphiro is also the NW 2002 Andalusian Jr Stallion Halter Champion and Best Movement winner. Saphiro has begun his USDF competition.

Saphiro is from some of the top breeding of athletic sport Lusitanos. "His lines come from the best of the best in Portugal," stated by Francisco Bessa de Carvalho, who is Senior Rider at the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, Director of Quinta da Fonta Santa and a noted breeder. Saphiro's sire, Umbaba, was ridden in dressage by Luis Valenca of the Portuguese school of equestrian art. Umbaba was also the 1983 National Champion in Portugal. Umbaba, was champion from the fair from the Golegã in 1981 and 1982 and beyond classifications in the Fair of Santarém. Saphiro's dam, Epoca, is from the noted Portuguese breeder Irmaos Olivera.
