 and personal profiles
Foremost our training philosophy is paradigmatic to some of the Masters, including that of Richard Waetjen:
"Without force or violence.... It is not the ambition to win great acclaim and many prizes at competitions, but the honest love of the work with the horse..... A rider who, out of exaggerated ambition, merely strives for awards, resembles a "ribbon hunter", who wants success at all costs and without heart and compassion for his horse."
Likewise, our horses do not become a "sacrifice" for the sole basis of successful competition. Our ambition is as Nuno Oliveira's:
"When you get off your horse, it is not the people who looked at you or the judge. It is the horse that turns around and by his supple body and kind eye that is seeing the riding I gave it, as the one tribute I take as a student."
Our breeding farm originated in Rainey Valley of Washington State. We made a brief move of our breeding operation to Oklahoma. The longing for family & old friends called us back to Washington and we're now residing in the township of Onalaska.

Dennis and Ginger Vosburg came from quite different backgrounds.
|
|
Horses have always been the major focus of Ginger's life since age three. She has enjoyed starting horses for going on 50 years and has successfully trained all her own riding horses.
Credit to the enduring equine endeavors is made to the encouragement from her mother: Eleonora Adamucci
AN ETERNAL TRIBUTE
|
Dennis was recuited from flying hang-gliders and now has his highs from riding horses.
|
Dennis went from a non-rider to raising, breaking and training his first horse which was an Andalusian stallion, Acero. Dennis rode Acero to competition in 2nd
level dressage with scores in the 70's. Dennis and Acero were a familiar sight from the dressage arena, to parades to mountain wilderness trails.
Together, Dennis and Acero brought the beauty of the breed to the general equine public in the Pacific NW, introducing many to their first glimpse of an Andalusian.
There has since been an explosion of interest in the breed.

Pictured below is our son, Terrell, at 4 years of age, riding our Andalusian mare, Estancia, being ponied by our stallion, Acero.
|
Riding Estancia, Terrell won the 1993 national title of "Youngest Rider of the Year Award" while competing in Competitive Mounted Orienteering.
The horses are a close knit part of the family, making temperament of the utmost importance to us. They are used for various types of riding, so they must be sound in mind and body.
Of course, we enjoy beauty and consider ours to having much eye appeal.

"This is from the Lord and is His doing, it is marvelous in our eyes." Ps.118:23"
Our breeding stock consist of straight Spanish, straight Lusitano and Spanish/Portuguese outcross of bloodlines. Included are domestically bred and imported stock.
Our breeding philosophy is concurrent with those studies that have proven the out-crossing and the larger gene pool will produce offspring enhanced with hyper-vigor, combined with line breeding to strengthen specific desired characteristics.

The horses are kept in excellent health care to better produce healthy foals.
|
|
This includes balanced nutrition and a regular deworming and vaccination program.
Bone and ligaments have the most potential for growth and strength with the freedom of exercize the foals have on pastures.
All the foals have daily human contact and receive a modified imprinting at birth.
